Work progresses in full swing on social facilities project in Bahrain

Bahrain’s minister of labour and social development, Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, has said that the construction work on social facilities projects has been progressing according to the schedule set under the Government Action Plan 2019-2022 in the kingdom.

The minister said that the work was underway on five construction projects that have been implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Works, Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning.

Bahrain News Agency (BNA) said that these projects include the Budaiya Comprehensive Community Centre; the Parent Daycare Club in Jidhafs; the A’Ali Comprehensive Disability Complex; the Comprehensive Social Care Complex in Hamad Town; and the Comprehensive Social Services Complex in Isa Town.

According to the minister, these facilities will serve people with special needs, senior citizens, and families.

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has financed the construction of A’Ali Comprehensive Disability Complex, the Comprehensive Social Care Complex in Hamad Town, and the Comprehensive Social Services Complex in Isa Town.

Meanwhile, Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) — the largest smelter in the world outside of China — has financed the majority of  the Budaiya Comprehensive Community Centre project, the BNA reported.
