Now that the Ministry of Health has approved and recommended vaccines to prevent COVID-19 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, here are some things you need to be enlightened about.

Know more about the new COVID-19 National Vaccination Campaign, its vaccines and how you can register to take it.

The biggest concern in everyone’s minds as soon as the vaccination was introduced is its effectiveness. Many were curious as to how the vaccine to a deadly disease could be created in such a short span of time. To confirm its effectiveness, you will need to understand that in order for a COVID-19 vaccine to be declared safe and effective for use, it must pass a variety of tests and standards.

The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) has approved the vaccine based on data from trials that had been conducted in numerous countries. Additionally, the authority revised the data behind the making of the vaccines to further guarantee its quality.

The government encourages every individual residing in the Kingdom of Bahrain to take the new COVID-19 vaccine to help combat the pandemic.

To be vaccinated, you need to be aged 18 and above. You can register online at https://healthalert.gov.bh/en/category/vaccine to book your appointment. You will then be directed to the following page where you will need to submit all the information required.

The registration process gives you the choice to select the health center at which you prefer to be vaccinated and the type of vaccine you wish to receive (Sinopharm or Pfizer).

Once you have completed the registration process, you will be contacted by the respective person, to confirm the date and time of your vaccination appointment.

A second shot is needed 21 days after taking the first vaccine shot. Antibodies will only appear in the vaccinated person’s body after 35 days.

Wearing masks and social distancing can only do so much in a battle against the coronavirus pandemic. To help protect yourself and others, get vaccinated now.
