In the list of 100 cities offering affordable five-star accommodation, only the Egyptian resorts of Sharm El Sheikh and Hurghada, Kuala Lumpur and Sofia were ranked cheaper than Sharjah.

The data also showed that Abu Dhabi (AED814) was ranked the 26th cheapest five-star destination while the holy city of Makkah in Saudi Arabia was ranked 64th (AED1,245)
“From our data it’s clear that deals can be found at five-star hotels in many sought-after destinations, in fact there’s five-star room rates in Sharm El Sheikh from just AED122 per night on our site now,” said Sam Ayles, senior growth manager at Skyscanner.ae.
