Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan received a delegation of Saudi social work figures and discussed cooperation. Council of Representatives member Mp. Ammar Hussein Abbas attended.
The two sides reviewed a number of charity projects and programmes which are implemented in Saudi Arabia and focused on cooperation between the Governmental and the private sector to achieve development goals in the social, humanitarian, educational and health sectors.
The minister lauded social and voluntary efforts which are implemented in Saudi Arabia, particularly social protection schemes, stressing the importance of exerting all efforts to ensure premium services to citizens.
He underlined Bahrain’s strides in developing the role of non-governmental organisations, highlighting the establishment of the Voluntary Work Development Centre to promote this important field.

The Arab states of the Persian Gulf are the seven Arab states which border the Persian Gulf, namely Bahrain, Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).This excludes the non-Arab state of Iran.
