Foreign Minister holds virtual meeting with Bahrain’s ambassadors abroad

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, today, today held a remote visual meeting with all of the ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Arab and foreign countries,




with the participation of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Undersecretaries of the Ministry.

The minister conveyed the thanks and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, to the ambassadors and all employees of Bahrain’s diplomatic missions abroad, for the sincere and determined efforts made to implement the high directives to arrange the return of Bahraini citizens to the country safely in light of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic, and for their continuous follow-up on the affairs of Bahraini citizens residing abroad.

Dr. Al-Zayani stressed that the sincere efforts made by the diplomatic missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad in these difficult circumstances are appreciated and cherished by all members of society and in particular the families of the citizens returning to the country, in addition to those who expressed their joy at the return of their children to spend the days of Eid Al-Fitr with their families and loved ones.

The number of the citizens who have been repatriated since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic has reached about 5587 citizens up to now, the minister said, praising the active and important role played by the Kingdom’s embassies as safe havens for Bahraini citizens abroad.

He also valued the cooperation and joint coordination that took place between embassies, consulates and officials in the ministry to facilitate the safe return of the citizens, according to a coordinated and effective plan that was set  and followed up among various competent authorities in the Kingdom, from the Ministry of Health, Civil Aviation, Gulf Air and other entities.

He praised the distinguished efforts made in this regard by the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air, regarding the facilities and precautions it provided to ensure the safe return of the citizens, noting the cooperation that the Kingdom of Bahrain has received from many brotherly and friendly countries to arrange and facilitate the process of the return of Bahraini citizens.



The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed gratitude for and pride in His Majesty the King’s considerable attention and care given to the Kingdom’s embassies abroad, delivering to the ambassadors, the pride of the Kingdom of Bahrain’s leadership, government and people in the great success achieved in curbing the spread of the Coronavirus, praising the sincere and determined efforts led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in accordance with well studied plans and precautionary measures. He also hailed the great community partnership that prevailed during the pandemic, as manifested in the cooperation of all members of the society to meet this great challenge, and the commitment shown by the people.
