American celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck is behind three restaurants at Four Seasons Bahrain Bay, including Re Asian Cuisine. The chic restaurant, situated on the 50th floor, offers excellent panoramic views of Bahrain’s skyline through floor-to-ceiling windows. The menu takes inspiration from street food across Asia and turns the dishes into something more contemporary and conducive to fine-dining. If you prefer meatier fare, then don’t miss Cut by Wolfgang Puck, which can be accessed via the hotel’s lobby.
The Ritz-Carlton Bahrain is home to many great restaurants that span a range of cuisines, from Italian to Mexican. But Plums steakhouse is its piece de resistance and one of the first restaurants on the island to really push the boundaries within innovative dining practices. Meat is the focus here, with all manner of high-grade cuts from across the world, but there’s plenty of fish and seafood on the menu, too. Plate presentation is more akin to art.

Newly reopened with a fresh look, more seating options and a brand-new menu is this Gulf Hotel stalwart that’s set to reinvent Bahraini cuisine. Head chef Tala Bashmi, a contestant on this year’s Top Chef Middle East, has taken the bones of classic Khaleeji dishes, from tikka to jareesh, and interpreted them in a contemporary way.
Beloved chef Susy Massetti, who was once in charge of the kitchens at Masso, is now behind Fishbone at Novotel Al Dana Resort in Muharraq. The chefs use local, seasonal produce as much as possible to create delicious Italian and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine that’s heavily focused on seafood. This comes straight from the sea or farm and souqs to your plate.
Mirai’s reputation more than exceeds its size. The Adliya restaurant packs in a main dining area, teppanyaki bar, private suite and upstairs bar in a relatively small space, but that’s why the vibe is always buzzing and upbeat. It specialises in Japanese food and for that it’s been one of the most popular spots on the island since 2002.
Well-known chef Vineet Bhatia, the first Indian chef to receive two Michelin stars for his restaurant in London, has a Bahrain outpost of his popular Rasoi concept. It’s arguably one of the island’s best restaurants, thanks to its superior service, elegant decor and phenomenal food that’s presented beautifully. The focus is on authentic Indian dishes but with a contemporary, gourmet twist.
