BAHRAIN’S KHK MMA team will be looking forward to consolidating their No. 1 position during the IMMAF World Championships to be held during the Brave International Combat Week from November 10 to 16 at Khalifa Sports City Arena.

Bahrain rose to No. 1 in the world of mixed martial arts this year, thanks to the tireless work of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, founder of KHK MMA, and everyone associated with the national team.

However, the IMMAF World Championships will give rival teams a chance to catch up with the hosts.

But the good news is that Bahrain will have home-advantage with hundreds of passionate MMA lovers expected to flock to the venue and support their favourite fighters.

Bahrain have 22 athletes in the senior divisions and six in the juniors.

Several medalists from last year will try to repeat and better themselves to consolidate Bahrain’s No. 1 position.

Pasha Kharkhachaev will lead Bahrain in the super heavyweight division with the reigning amateur world champion looking to make it a double gold and cement himself as the best amateur athlete in the world, pound for pound.

He will be accompanied by the likes of Abdulla Mubarak, Isa Alameeri, Abdulrahman Alhasan, Abdulla Yaqoob, among other stars of tomorrow who will look to give Bahrain a distinct edge.
