1258 | the publication reaches you by | Bahrain NewsThe deals are part of a plan to make the airport somewhere passengers “will want to go” rather than have to go, according to His Excellency the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications and Bahrain Airport Company Chairman Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed.
The deals were signed by His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed and Bahrain Duty Free Chairman Farouk Yousuf Almoayyed, witnessed by officials from both companies.
His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed said: “Duty free shopping is one of the most popular parts of the airport experience and we are confident that passengers will appreciate the enhanced selection of goods and competitive prices. With the launch of the new terminal in 2020, we look forward to delivering a hassle-free airport experience that offers comfort, connections and character.”
He added:
“We look forward to working with BDFC to improve the shopping experience for passengers at the new terminal. Most airports are places that travellers have to go through; this is an airport we hope they will want to go to.”
When open, the new duty free area is expected to feature up to 30 brands which will be appearing in Bahrain for the first time.
