Bahrain has strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s launch of five explosive-laden drones targeting civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia, calling it a flagrant violation of international and humanitarian law.

In a statement on Friday carried by Bahrain News Agency, Bahrain’s foreign affairs ministry said:

“Bahrain condemns the persistence of the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia in their repeated attacks against Saudi Arabia, and strongly denounces the Houthi coup militia launching of two explosive-laden boats near the petroleum products distribution station in the Jazan region of Saudi Arabia, which led to a fire in the hoses floating in the platform, posing a threat to the security of petroleum exports, maritime traffic and freedom of international trade.”

“While the ministry affirms Bahrain’s support for Saudi Arabia and its solidarity with it in all the measures it takes to ensure the safety of its territories, it also reiterates full support for all Saudi efforts aimed at combating terrorism at the regional and international levels.”

“It also stresses the need for the international community to take firm measures to deter terrorist militias from carrying out such criminal acts that threaten international peace and security, and to confront all those who stand behind or support them,” the statement added.

Earlier in the day, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen has affirmed that the OIC supports efforts of the Arab Coalition to confront Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia crimes and attempts to target civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia.
