Bahrain allows only fully vaccinated worshipers over 18 to enter mosques

Bahrain’s Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has decided to limit access to mosques for the five daily prayers and Friday prayer for worshipers who have spent 14 days after taking the second dose of a coronavirus vaccine and those who have recovered from the virus, the Bahrain News Agency reported on Thursday.

According to the ministry, the move is based on the decisions of the country’s national coronavirus taskforce and after coordination with the Sunni and Ja’afari Endowments

“Access to mosques will be restricted to people who are over 18 years old,” the ministry added, stressing the need to strictly apply the precautionary measures that were announced previously.

The new measures will take effect from Friday (May 21 and their implementation will be overseen by the Sunni and Ja’afari Endowment Directorates.

The ministry stated that it will continuously follow up with both directorates to ensure compliance with the health measures approved by the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus so as to ensure a healthy, safe, and reassuring environment for worshipers.
