Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum, who promotes WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford, revealed that he’s in talks with Bahrain to host big events in the future – including a unification with WBA welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

“We hope we get Crawford and Pacquiao in action this year and through our friends at MTK, we are in serious talks with Bahrain for doing major fights there,” Arum told iFL TV. “I would love to do some big, big events in Bahrain.
“Let’s see what happens. Everything is likely, everyone wants to do these big events until it comes time to put up the money! But I think with Bahrain we’ve got a good shot at getting it done.”
The partnership between MTK and KHK came together through controversial boxing figure Daniel Kinahan – who founded MTK and is listed as a special adviser to KHK.
KHK announced their intention to hold a boxing summit in Bahrain in the fall.
Arum recently explained that a Crawford vs. Pacquiao contest was impossible to make without an audience – unless someone put up a lot of money to hold it behind closed doors.
Both Pacquiao and Crawford have expressed a serious willingness to face each other.
Pacquiao has been out of the ring since July 2019, when he captured the WBA title with a twelve round decision win over Keith Thurman.
Crawford was in the ring back in December, when he stopped mandatory challenger Egis Kavaliauskas.
