“The public’s vote is the greatest proof of the success of my work and the ability to communicate a purposeful message,” Ibrahim said.
“Throughout my presence at the exhibition, I could witness the great interaction from the people with my work,” he said.
“We are always keen on engaging the public in the cultural and artistic movement, and this is the second time that the Bahraini public has chosen their favorite artwork in the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition,” Culture and Arts Director General Shaikha Hala bint Mohammed Al Khalifa said.
“This reflects the growing interest in plastic arts in the Kingdom of Bahrain, thanks to the steady efforts by BACA to hold artistic events that meet the aspirations of citizens, residents and visitors, the most important of which is the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition.”
Since its inception in 1972, the exhibition has evolved into an important yearly gathering of artists and an innovative forum for debate in which the different artistic monologues have an opportunity to communicate, converse and compete.
From abstract to surrealism, from modernist representations to more traditional cultural expressions, the exhibition represents an opportunity to highlight different schools of thought, artists’ perceptions and ideological backgrounds.
Held annually under the patronage of HRH the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Bahrain Annual Fine Arts Exhibition has hosted more than 2,600 artists over the years, showing more than 5,500 works of art.
