Bahraini citizens and migrant workers will have access to the vaccine against COVID-19 for free in the kingdom, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Salman Bin Hamad has said.

“The royal directives to make the vaccine available support plans for preventive health security,” he added at an online meeting of a coordination committee in charge of tackling COVID-19 in the kingdom.
The plan aims at vaccinating 5,000 people per day, to be maximized to 10,000, it added. It is not clear yet when the plan gets under way.
Bahrain so far has registered a tally of 88,632 virus cases and a total of 347 fatalities.
Earlier this month, Bahrain has become the second country in the world after the UK granting an emergency use authorization for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine against COVID-19.
Authorities said the vaccine will be available for high-risk groups including old people and sufferers of chronic diseases.
Last month, Bahrain approved the emergency use of the Chinese-made Sinopharm vaccine against COVID-19 for frontline workers.
